Day one:
Arrive in Arizona.
Visit: The Heard Museum,  http://www.heard.org/

Day Two:
Explore some of the 7 vortex sites in and around Sedona, with mysterious, magnetic energies, that inspire, invigorate, and calm with their "electric energy" http://www.sedona.net/webpage.php/swmc/webpagesandarticles/sedonavortexmap
Drive Oak Creek Canyon, a 15 mile drive between Sedona and Flagstaff, weaves through lush forests beneath high sandstone cliffs in one of Arizona's most beautiful areas.  Trails, picnic areas, and natural swimming holes to stop and linger. http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/recreation/red_rock/oak-creekscenic.shtml

Day Three:
The Grand Canyon Railway, http://www.thetrain.com/ Vintage train to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Once The train delivers us just steps from the south rim, arriving at the Grand Canyon Depot, built in 1910, here's a link:  http://www.nps.gov/grca/parknews/upload/2011SRSummerGuide0428.pdf It is the only operating log depot in the U.S.  We will have 3 1/2 hours to explore the scenic overlooks and historic structures on the South Rim. Board the train for the return trip to Williams.  The trip measures 65 miles and takes 2 hours, 15 minutes each way.  We'll pass through different landscapes, from Ponderosa pine forests down to the open and dry high desert, and then rise back into the forest as we approach the Canyon.  There is a 1,500 foot vertical drop along the way.

Day Four:

Day Five:
Colorado River Discovery http://raftthecanyon.com/crd-rafts.php Half day river rafting then drive from Page to Grand Canyon North Rim. U.S. Route 89 North to Kanab (Grand Staircase Escalante, Vermillions Cliffs); Alt 89 South to Jacob Lake; State Rd 67 south through Kaibab Plauteau to North Rim. Day Six:

Day Seven:

Day Eight:
62nd Annual Navajo Festival, Museum of Northern Arizona: Award winning Navajo painters and renowned weavers, hoop and social dancing, traditional and modern Native music, intricate language, ancient legends and traditions. http://www.musnaz.org/
Then, on the road again to Phoenix for our last overnight.
